44 - Benalla Cross Country Open day - Sunday 10th June

43 - 05/04/12 - End of Season Awards, Records and What Next ?

Our 2011/2012 track and field season has come to an end. Thanks to all for another great season.

Please click here for the 20112012 season awards and see the Star Athletes link on the left hand side for pictures of the proud Aggregate winners, Halle and Andrew.

Records have also been updated; please see link on left hand side.

Please contact Shane Bicknell (President) via shane@bicknell.com.au to arrange collection of any awards and of course with any input for next season.

We look forward to seeing you all next season and will be in touch from time to time as planning for next season unfolds, and to invite entry for the LA Cross Country events.

Please stay fit and healthy. Perhaps consider weekly cross country running by joining one of the senior athletic clubs ( all of whom cater for junior runners), or if Cross Country is not your go, then perhaps join a local footy club.

One of the initiatives of the Centre next season will be to contact football clubs to suggest their players could benefit greatly from little Aths in the off season. In this reciprocal arrangement for both activities, we invite football clubs to contact us now for publishing of your details which may be of interest to our athletes.

80% chance of heavy rain forecast, so sorry, but today's program at Llanberris is cancelled.  Note - today's program was to be Round 1.  This round (1) will be run next week.

35 - 25/02/12 - Round 13 Results

Here are the Results  (V1) from Saturday 25/02.  Congratulations to all on a great day back to normal competition in fairly hot conditions.  Lots of PBs and a few more records fell. Zoom'n Zoe did it again with a record in the U6 hurdles and Isaiah Cross, not to be outdone, also claimed a record in the same race !. Well done to our perenial record breaker Oliver who added the 100m record to his collection.

33 - Ballarat Gift - Dash for Cash - Finals results 

Apologies for the delay, but here are the  Finals Results . 100m, 400m and 800m are on separate tabs. Please note, those without times are because the athletes went under the beam ! - placings were confirmed by the VAL photo finish equiptment.

Congratulations one and all. For many it was a first introduction to handicapped events and many close races were had (which of course is the point of handicapping; giving a chance to all). 

32 - 17/02/12 - Newsletter No. 13

A big thankyou to the large numbers of athletes who turned out for the Maryborough Open day and Ballarat Gift modified program last weekend. You all did our Centre proud. (and to the long list of parents and kids waiting for Ballarat Gift race registration, thank you for your patience - that won't happen next year I guarantee it !! )

What a performance. Check out all the records, including Zoomin' Zoe Ferry, who must have been jumpin out of her skin to start real competition, and broke the U6 100m record which had stood for 12 years.

Welcome back !! - Great results in the State Relays, looking forward to the Ballarat Gift and Regional Track and Field. What an exciting month we are in for. 

No doubt everyone has been training hard over the break (yeah right), so time to dust off those cobwebs and hit the track running.

Good luck especially to all our U6's who commence normal competition just like the big kids from this Saturday. Try to keep the butterflies under control !!

28 - VICTORIAN JUNIOR DASH FOR CASH - EUREKA STADIUM - 11/12 Feb

This season's Ballarat Gift (11-12 Feb 2012)  will include  a series of handicapped races for juniors 5-15 years of age.

Prizes and prizemoney kindly provided by Ballarat Grammar, City of Ballarat, Soverign Hill  and the Ballarat Athletic Club.

18 - KANNAMAROO GIFT 27th November

We are very keen to form closer bonds with other Western District Centres and a great way to do this is by supporting their Open days. Horsham's Kannamaroo Gift is a beauty.  There are a range of events U6-U16 and 3 special gift races.  Entry is $5 per event. ( BLAC will pay the late fee)  For more details CLICK HERE. , and please advise john.jones@sro.vic.gov.au if you are coming by midday WEDNESDAY 23rd. Hopefully a bus can be organised. Let's get on the happy bus for a great day trip to Horsham's Kannamaroo Gift !

15 - RUN FOR HEALTH 26th November

RUN FOR HEALTH and for the Ballarat Integrated Cancer Centre (BRICC) Saturday, November 26 at 5 PM.

Ballarat has a new fun run and proceeds will benefit the Ballarat Regional Integrated Cancer Centre (BRICC).

Ballarat Health Services (BHS), in partnership the Triathlon Victoria Multisport Festival is staging the Run for Health on Saturday, November 26 at 5 PM.

Runners and walkers of all abilities can challenge themselves over a 12km or 6km course that will be held around Ballarat's picturesque Lake Wendouree, then join in all the activities the Multisport Festival has to offer including a barbecue and music.

All of the entry fees from the event will go to the BRICC.

5 - 08/10/11 - Round 1 Results

Here are the Results  (V2 09/10) from today. We have one new record already; congratulations to Oliver Edwards who broke the U14B Long jump record of 5.29m which had stood for 11 years with a leap of 5.38!

Today was a great turnout for week 1, and although there were a few frazzled parents and officials running around early,  the kids had fun and overall it was a great day.

4 - 07/10/11 - Competition starts tomorrow !!!

Our season kicks off tomorrow at 8.45am. It's not too late too register. Please do so online via the link below as it will reduce work involved in manual registration tomorrow.

3 - 01/09/11 - Online Registration is now available

Online Registration for both new and existing members for the upcoming season ( Saturday Mornings at Llanberrris - York St - from 8th October 2011) is now available

Registration completion (collection of showbag etc) is on 24th September 10am -12pm, to coincide with our FREE 'come and try day' so come along and introduce yourself to those trying out and join in the free BBQ.

This year we are having a FREE 'come and try day' on 24th September 10am-12pm, so why not join us for a free BBQ and see what's on offer first hand. Registration completion ( collection of showbag etc) is also on this morning.
